BELL, Jim (Yong)

Passed peacefully on October 2, 2026. It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jim (Yong) Bell on October 2, 2026 at the age of 67, in Mount Forest, surrounded by the love of his family. Jim was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his daughter, Skye (Jamie), and his son, Alonzo (Andrew), who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. One of the greatest joys in Jim’s life was his three grandchildren, Teddy, Ruby, and Billy. His love for them was endless, and the memories they shared with their grandfather will remain a treasured part of their lives. Jim took great pride in watching them grow and was happiest when surrounded by his family. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Al and Jean Bell of Arthur and his niece and nephew Ashley and Scott Thurlow from Alberta. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers and sister, John Bell (Mary), Larry Bell (Gloria), Anna Jean Israel, and Doug Bell (Leanne), as well as his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. Brother-in-law of Tom and John Greenley. Jim also had a deep passion for harness racing, a love that brought him many wonderful memories and lifelong friendships. Whether at the track, talking horses, sharing stories, or simply spending time with friends, Jim had a way of making people feel welcome. His friendships meant a great deal to him, and he will be remembered by many for his kindness, humour, stories, and genuine love of people. Above all, Jim cherished his family. He believed in the importance of being there for the people he loved with his presence, laughter, and stories. Jim was not interested in collecting material things, he cherished the collection of relationships. Though Jim has left us, the memories he created will live on—in the stories told by his family, in the friendships he made, in his love of harness racing, and most importantly, in the hearts of Skye and Jamie, Al and Andrew, Teddy, Ruby, and Billy. Rest peacefully, Yong. You were loved, you will be missed, and you will never be forgotten. A casual celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Arthur Community Centre on Sunday, October 25, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00pm. With remembrances at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to Teddy, Ruby and Billy’s education RESP accounts would be appreciated and cheques can be made to Skye Coutts. Arrangements entrusted to the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Arthur.
