BEAMS, Ruth Frances

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ruth at Columbia Forest LTC in Waterloo, while embraced by the love of her family. Born in Copetown, Ontario, to the late George and Esme Hils, Ruth married George Beams on October 1, 1955 (who predeceased her on March 18, 2012). Ruth held many jobs in the Fergus area, her last being at the Wellington Veterinary Clinic in Elora before retiring. She had a true love for her feline friends. Ruth is survived by her loving sons Kevin (Ann) and Larry (Allison); her beloved grandsons Phillip (Robyn), Gregory (Sarah), Michael (Jung Rye), and Daniel (Stephanie); and the apples of her eyes, her great-grandchildren Sarah and Adrian. She is also survived by her siblings Gordon, Linda, Georgette, and Jack, along with many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, January 17th at 1pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus. Cremation has taken place and burial will occur in the spring at McKee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society and would be greatly appreciated by the family. The family wishes to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Columbia Forest who made Ruth feel loved and secure.
