BARRETT, Peter

Peter John Barrett, formerly of Erin and Hillsburgh and most recently Clifford, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, due to aggressive lung cancer. Peter was born on November 30, 1951, in Weston, Ontario. He was the cherished partner of Tanis MacIvor and proud father of Alex (Alanna) of Smith Falls, and Jason of Humboldt, Saskatchewan. He was the big brother to Bruce (Mary), Michael, Ian, and Gillian, uncle to Glenn (Sasha), and great-uncle to Sonny. Peter will be missed tremendously by Jesse Randall Purdy, who regarded Peter as a mentor, life coach and role model. After retiring from the Town of Erin Works Department, he became an integral part of Keith’s Trailers in Hillsburgh. Peter will be missed by everyone that had the good fortune to meet him, but he will not be forgotten. A celebration of Peter’s life will be held in the spring.
