BALAN, Viorel

Viorel Balan of Listowel, and formerly of Moorefield passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 9, 2026, in his 84th year. Husband of the late Elena (Laoj) Balan who passed away on September 7, 2023. Father of Mitch Balan (Sylvie), and Victor Balan. Loved grandfather of Danielle, Natalie, and Samuel, and great-grandfather of Jude and Maeve. Brother of Jonel Balan (Mindra) of Kitchener, and also missed by Family Laoj of Ritisor. Loving uncle of Joseph and Valentina. Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at St. John the Baptist Romanian Orthodox Church, 2150 Bleams Rd., Kitchener, on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:00am. Interment in Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
