ELORA – What’s clear is that the multi-use pad at Bissell Park is in dire need of repair and is close to being closed as it becomes increasingly unsafe.

ELORA – You might have driven past it dozens of times and not known it’s there. But off the 8th Line just outside Elora, around a bend and down a laneway, is a magical place. And it’s here, at 6338 8th Line, where the local Estonian community is preparing for its Song Festival – June 28 to 30.

PUSLINCH – Officials say Canada Day will be a blast this year in Puslinch.

FERGUS – Centre Wellington Township has purchased 90 acres of land beside the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex for $4.8 million.

FERGUS – Hammond Manufacturing will be the first business in the new Fergus Business Park. The township and company made the announcement at the site, at the corner of First Line and Dickson Drive, on June 20.

ABERFOYLE – Puslinch Township would like the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks to shut down a business it claims is operating illegally in the township.

FERGUS – They went into the regional pool tournament as the underdog and came out the victor. And so the Blame Game, a pool team that plays regularly at JJs Diner in Fergus, will be heading to Las Vegas for the World Pool Championships in August.

ABERFOYLE – Gabriele Monteith and Steve Naylor would like Puslinch Township to take extra care when designing and maintaining roads that go through wetland areas.

ABERFOYLE – Puslinch council decided the next gravel roads to be paved in the township are Carter, Cooks Mill and Farnham roads, all located in Arkell. The decision was contrary to the staff recommendation to pave Sideroad 10 South first.

ELORA – Council did not approve the 2025 budget at its June 10 meeting, but it did lay the groundwork for staff to get going on it. So don’t be alarmed by the 6.3 per cent tax increase noted at the meeting. It is a starting point only, treasurer Adam McNabb told council.

ELORA – After being the subject of debate for more than a year, council approved a zoning and official plan amendment for a mixed-use development at 19 Mill St. E. in Elora on June 10.

ELORA – Centre Wellington council agreed to a new delivery method when it awarded the contract to design and build a new operations centre to Ball Construction Ltd. on June 10.

ELORA – In the end it came down to an empty tea box. But before that there was quite a discussion on who council would nominate to run for a director’s seat at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario.

PALMERSTON – For the fourth year, the Town of Minto showed its support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by holding Pride in the Park.

GUELPH – The Grove Youth Hubs in Guelph and Wellington County have seen 32,000 youth enter their doors in the past year. Not quite that many people entered the doors of the newest Grove hub in Guelph for an open house on June 5, but it was still a revolving door at the facility.
