ARTHUR – The Arthur Vipers team captured the WOAA U18LL Elite Division championship on March 28, securing the title for the second year in a row.

Arthur beat Mount Forest Rams in the final series to capture the championship.

This was a best-out-of-three games series, with Arthur taking game one with a 4-3 win in overtime on goals from Parker Coffey (2), Adam Krul (1) and Conner Schmidt, who scored the game winner and also recorded an assist in the game.

Nathan Hasson also earned an assist.

Mount Forest came back strong with a 2-0 win over Arthur to force a third game.

“As they entered the third and final game you could feel the determination in the dressing room with the players,” Vipers officials noted.

Arthur came out strong and fast, pushing the pace of the game from the start to finish earning a 5-0 win.

Goals were scored by Simon Livingston (3G, 1A), Parker Coffey (1G, 2A) and Aidan Hope (1G).

Conner Schimdt, Nate Howse, Wyatt Schill and Owen McDougall all provided helpers.

Wyatt Smith and Braeden van Dongen stood their ground as goalies, keeping the puck out of the net.

All three Arthur lines focused on doing the small things, fast and with intention.

“This energy of play every shift was what fed the fuel to the next line going out the door. Everyone wanted the win and everyone was doing their part to capture the title,” stated team officials, who thanked players for “their effort and dedication.

“Seventeen individuals working as one team, with one mission in their sights and they accomplished it.”

With this win the Arthur Vipers U18LL team caps off the season with 27 wins and one loss, making its two-year record 50-1-0, with 248 goals for and 76 goals against.
