Arthur celebrates Canada with long weekend events
Former Wellington County warden Lynda White, left, was the first recipient of the Luella Logan Award for Outstanding Service by a Woman in Politics. On June 29 she presented the $1,500 donation that accompanies the award, created by Luella’s husband Robert Logan, to the Get In Touch for Hutch mental health initiative. Accepting the oversized cheque were Myrna Hutchison, founder of the organization, her husband Stu and son Kevin. Flag fun - The Arthur community held a weekend-long celebration for Canada Day, including men’s and mixed three pitch-tournament, the 7th annual Get in Touch for Hutch event, a horseshoe tournament, free swims at the pool, children’s activities, a barbecue dinner, dog shows, an open air movie night and fireworks.
