Arena season opener and homemade burgers in Clifford on Oct. 14
Members of the Clifford Recreation Association (CRA) invite area residents to skate and partake of their hospitality from 6 to 8pm on Oct. 14 at the Clifford Arena.
The CRA is celebrating the beginning of the 2017-18 season with an arena season kick-off featuring a free skate and free hot dogs and homemade burgers.
Throughout the season, people skate, learn to figure skate, play hockey and curl. There are weekly practices, weekend tournaments and Saturday bonspiels. Spectators are welcome. Businesses and individuals sponsor ice time so at times everyone skates for free. Volunteers look after the food booth stocking the shelves and cooking the fries and burgers.
The CRA are always on the lookout for volunteers and there are plenty of opportunities to lend a helping hand, just ask them.
The CRA is thankful for the help, with officials stating, “We all continue to work to keep our local arena up and running, but we could not do it without the ongoing support of our terrific little community.”
