Applications double 2017 grant budget

According to Centre Wellington councillor Kirk McElwain community grant applications total twice the township budget for 2017.

In his December report to council, McElwain noted the Community Services Advisory Committee recently met and had its first look at applications for the community impact grants for 2017.

“This year we have an unusually large number of applicants (19), applying for a total of $65,000 worth of grants, and we only have $31,000 to give out,” McElwain said. “It’s going to be a tough decision making process this year.”
