Another win for Fergus barber
His second place cut was completed in 15 minutes at Toronto Barber Expo
FERGUS – Mahfoze Adeeb made the cut, and in doing so has made the cut.
The owner of the Barber Parlor in Fergus won second place at the Toronto Barber Expo, held in Toronto on June 28.
He competed in the 15-minute fade battle that’s judged on speed, blend and overall cut.
This is his third time at the competition.
In 2024 he placed third; last year he came in first and now he’s won second place.
He also won the Canadian Top Choice award for the south-west region of Ontario, which is like a people’s choice award.
“We just keep winning,” he beamed on the phone.
“I can hardly believe it.”
The contest has grown over the years.
Adeeb said there were more than 4,000 in attendance and organizers had to change the original venue because of the crowds.
Barbers from across Canada and around the world competed. Adeeb said there were 28 barbers in his category alone and they came from Mexico, Edmonton, Nova Scotia, the U.S., Europe and Ontario.
The other categories had 30 minutes for a cut, but this 15-minute challenge was the hardest, he said.
“I like to challenge myself,” he said. “And I treat every day in the store like it’s competition day. I never have the switch off.”
He was happy to be praised on the national stage, but his greatest win is seeing his Fergus clients leave with happy smiles and quality cuts.
“Our clients come first, always,” he said.
