Rezonings to accommodate the severance of surplus farm dwellings is becoming standard fare at Centre Wellington council.

On May 25, councillors here had no issue with a proposed zoning bylaw amendment is to change the zoning of the subject land from “A” Agricultural and “EP” Environmental Protection to “A” Agricultural Exception and “EP” Environmental Protection.

The rezoning sets the stage to facilitate the farm dwelling surplus severance at 6759 Wellington Road 16 in the former township of West Garafraxa.

Planner Mariana Iglesias said the property is located on the south side of Sideroad 15 and east of Wellington Rd. 16.

Iglesias said the rezoning would prohibit residential construction on the 40-hectare retained farm parcel.

Councillors here had no issue with the rezoning.
