Annual Family Fun day goes mobile in Hillsburgh

Family Fun Day Cruise – The Let’s Get Hillsburgh Growing committee has proven resilient and resourceful in facing challenges while organizing the annual Hillsburgh Family Fun Day.  Normally spread out along Hillsburgh’s downtown core along Trafalgar, the popular event was moved indoors to the Hillsburgh Community Centre at the last minute in 2019 because of uncertain weather. Due to the pandemic, the event once again took on a different look this year, going mobile in the form of a “Family Fun Day Cruise.” Residents enjoyed the sights and sounds right from their front lawn as dozens of shiny classic cars paraded along Trafalgar Road and Hillsburgh’s side streets. The cruise was led by Anne and Dave Puckering, who lived in Hillsburgh for 30 years and made the trip down from Gorrie, Ontario for the occasion. The procession also included many local classic car owners, including Erin residents Tom and Debi Clare, who proudly paraded  their classic 1966 Sunbeam Tiger, which Tom has looked after meticulously ever since buying the car brand new.
