ALMA – With 42 vendors on hand and large crowds passing through, the Alma Optimist Club’s inaugural spring craft market was a successful venture.

“It’s a great day. I think the weather really helped,” said Optimist member Linda Avery, one of the key organizers of the event.

“We typically do one at Christmas the first Saturday in December and that’s been running for about 12 years in a row.

“And then someone said, ‘What do you think about doing a spring one?’ So I said sure we’ll give it a go.”

“So far, the foot traffic looks pretty good,” Avery observed about an hour into the three-hour event, which was held at the Alma Community Centre.
