AITKEN, William John
Passed away peacefully at Crescent Care in Arthur, Ontario, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and deep love for his family. Beloved husband of Joyce, Bill was a devoted partner and steadfast companion. He was the cherished son of the late John and Florence Aitken, and a loving brother to Jean Hartman and the late Wilfred Hartman. Bill was a proud and caring father to Gwen Snowe (and the late Jeff Snowe), the late Scott (Krista), and Greg (Brighite). His family was his greatest pride, and he took immense joy in being a grandfather to Justin (Brie), Riley, Alyssa, Lauren, Sam, and Wade, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Raised in Proton Township, Bill developed a deep-rooted love for farm life at an early age—one that stayed with him throughout his life. He carried that passion into many years of farming in West Luther Township, where he found true happiness working the land and caring for his cows. In addition to farming, Bill built a career as a mechanic and truck driver, known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand. He was also a dedicated volunteer, generously giving his time to coach his sons’ hockey teams, creating lasting memories both on and off the ice. Bill will be fondly remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. To honour Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service held in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Arthur. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
