Good reporting

Re: Administrator used museum van, staff for personal move, April 25.

Kudos to the Wellington Advertiser and Donna Ecclestone for reporting on the blatant misuse of a county-owned vehicle by Janice Hindley for a personal move. She should have hired a mover - she is probably on the Sunshine List as it is.

What if the employees had a major injury with loss of employment or a vehicle crash and lawsuit - who would pay for this?

How do we know she paid for the truck and employees? This was probably an all-day job and with the rental truck, there could have been more employees involved.

Then her bleeding heart friends send damning letters to the editor about the newspaper reporting this on the front page. More of this reporting should be done about the abuse of a position and the use of taxpayers’ property.

CAO Scott Wilson should stop making excuses for Hindley.

Keep up the good reporting.
