$427,670 bridge tender approved for Arthur Street bridge in Harriston
Councillors here have approved a $427,670 bid for the rehabilitation of the Maitland River Bridge on Arthur Street, in Harriston.
Owen King Limited, of Walkerton, was the successful bidder for the contract, which includes $30,000 for contingencies and $49,200 for HST.
A report from Triton Engineering noted that the town was allocated $315,000 through the MTO connecting link program and the budget is estimated at $400,000.
Paul Ziegler, of Triton Engineering, said “The estimated budget figure dates back to the original 2008 MTO?connecting link application and the money was allocated in July 2009, but due to timing constraints it was not possible to proceed with the work.”
Council approved the bid.
