4-H Club holds life skills workshops

The Wellington County Agricultural Leaders attended the Agricultural Workshop at the Alma Bible Church.

Kim Waalderbos gave a presentation on her trip to Japan. It was very interesting and informative.

Julia Williams, 4-H Ontario Rural Specialist, outlined the responsibilities of the Youth Leader and gave an update on what will be taking place throughout the year.

The leaders picked up their resources for the year and a social time was had.

Life Skills

The Wellington County Life Skill Leaders met on March 8 at the Alma community centre.

Despite the weather the ladies had a good day. Williams, outlined the responsibilities of the Youth Leader and gave an update on what will be happening throughout the year.

Irene Bultena showed the women how easy it is to paint on glass. With great success they tried their hand at painting a vase.

The Fergus club leaders, Mary Fraser, Linda Wing, and Bultena talked about All Manner of Red Meat, a new project, and they prepared one of the meat recipes for lunch.

They also talked about the new community involvement project and the many ways of possibly doing it. They encouraged the leaders to try the projects.

The Fergus club to date is the only club that has done those new projects.

Thank you to Halwell Mutual Insurance for sponsoring the workshops.
