Combine fire spreads to farm field
CENTRE WELLINGTON – No one was injured after a combine and field caught fire here on Saturday afternoon.
Wellington County OPP officials say emergency crews were called to the farm, off Wellington Road 21 just outside of Elora, on Aug. 2 at about 1:30pm.
When they arrived a combine harvester was "engulfed in flames, which ignited the surrounding field," stated an OPP press release.
"The operator safely escaped before the combine lit on fire. No injuries are reported."
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
