Wingfield Unbound in town May 30, 31

Everybody’s favourite letter writer from the 7th Line of Persephone Township is making a return to this area on May 30 and 31.

In his fourth season on the farm (and his first as a married man), Walt Wingfield tries to preserve the memory of the old rural community by promoting the crumbling Hollyhock Mill as a museum site.

His problem is the locals say the mill is haunted. Undaunted by such superstitious fears, Wingfield sets out to prove to the neighbours that there is nothing to that curse business – with near disastrous results.

Wingfield Unbound, by Dan Needles, stars Rod Beattie and is directed by Doug Beattie.

Needles, a former editor in Shelbourne, has turned Walt Wingfield into a household name and offers a look at rural life that strikes an hilarious chord with people in southwestern Ontario and right across Canada.

The Wingfield shows will run at 8pm both nights. The Fergus Grand Theatre is located at 244 St. Andrew Street West.

Tickets are $30 each; the price for groups of 10 or more and seniors is $27.
