Wilson lauded for 25 years in politics

Wellington County councillor Bob Wilson was honoured by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing on Nov. 25 for his 25 years of municipal government experience.

Wilson was presented with a pin at the annual Ontario West Municipal Conference banquet, where he was supported by his family and members of county council and staff.

“It has been an honour to serve my local constituents for the past 25 years,” said Wilson.

“After 25 years, I am still passionate about politics and continue to face new challenges with a competitive spirit.  I’d like to thank my family, Wellington County council and staff for their support.”

Over the past 25 years, Wilson has served as a local councillor and reeve for the former Township of West Garafraxa, county councillor and county warden.

In recent years, Wilson’s focus has been Wellington county’s Solid Waste Services committee.

“On behalf of county council and staff, I’d like to congratulate councillor Wilson for his outstanding contribution to the residents of Wellington County over the past 25 years,” said Warden Joanne Ross-Zuj.

“I have had the pleasure of working with councillor Wilson for many years. His commitment, hard work and dedication are very admirable.”
