Wellington North Showcase held at Mount Forest sportsplex

MOUNT FOREST – It was a chance to get to know everyone’s business.

The 10th annual Wellington North Showcase at the Mount Forest Sports Complex on March 25 and 26 provided the chance for businesses and residents to discover one another.

Speaking to members of the business community on March 25, Mayor Lennox noted this year’s event played on the theme that “everybody knows everybody’s business in small towns.”

“Yet, it is remarkable that so few people know all the businesses in their community,” said Lennox.

“This is a great opportunity for all our community – to get to know everybody’s business.”

On behalf of the township, the mayor welcomed those attending the showcase.

Now in its 10th year, the event is a combined effort of the Township of Wellington North’s economic development office, the Saugeen Economic Development Corporation, TD Canada Trust, OMAFRA, and the Arthur and Mount Forest Chambers of Commerce.

It is an opportunity for businesses, retailers and organizations to showcase products and services to the community and to make connections with community and business leaders.

March 25 served as a Business after Five networking event for businesses to learn more about each other.

On March 26, doors were opened to the public and the event featured a showcase of displays and products from over 80 local businesses.

While a free event, non-perishable or cash donations to the community pantry were gratefully accepted.

The mayor’s soldout lunch and talk, in conjunction with HOPE (Healthy Opportunities Promoting Empowerment; De-stigmatizing Mental Health) was held in the Plume Room.

This year’s topic was “Mental Health in the Farming Community.”
