Welcome receptions planned for newcomers

MINTO – The Town of Minto and local downtown revitalization committees are planning “Pop-Up Newcomers’ Welcome Receptions” in Clifford, Harriston and Palmerston for new residents to stop by and learn more about their new community.

While in previous years the receptions have been a social gathering, this year will be organized as a come-and-go event to allow residents who recently moved to the area to feel safe as they learn more about their community, ask questions, receive their welcome gag full of items donated by local merchants and grab their recycling and organics bins if they have not already done so.

The Clifford’s event will be held on June 22 at Celebration Square, Harriston’s event on June 23 in Tannery Park, and Palmerston’s event on June 24 at the entrance to the Lions’ Heritage Park.

Newcomers are encouraged to stop in between 6 and 7pm on those dates.
