Trillium grant helped Elora Centre for the Arts in pandemic recovery

ELORA – A grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has helped the Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) recover from the pandemic, and officials there expressed their gratitude in a Nov. 3 press release.

“This support from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has helped the Centre operationally this past year, allowing us to continue serving the community despite pandemic setbacks,” states art centre board co-chair Kathryn Giffen.

In August 2021, the Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) received a $46,800 Trillium Community Building Fund – Operating grant, which was instrumental in supporting the ECFTA’s recovery from the pandemic, officials state.

The grant allowed the arts centre to deepen the curation and experience of eight  exhibitions, assist in staff wage support and contributed to virtual art instruction for 132 students in the Life Skills/Mild Intellectual Disabilities (MID) program in local schools.

“We are very grateful for the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation and this grant for the Elora Centre for the Arts,” Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott stated.

“I also want to thank the Elora Centre for the Arts staff and volunteers for all that they do for our community.”

Through the support of the OTF grant, ECFTA has been able to continue operating its facility while creating accessible, hybrid digital/in-person exhibitions and arts programming, and ensuring organizational stability and growth post-pandemic.
