Gardenscapes 2008 is the 16th annual self-guided tour of Guelph gardens, organized by the Art Centre Volunteers.
This year’s tour features ten properties cultivated by local gardeners that are opened to members of the public for a special, one-day event.
Among the highlights of this year’s properties are a hillside property overlooking the Speed River which draws inspiration from architect Frank Lloyd Wright (by Anne and Wayne Wright at 58 Bedford Road), a riverbed that leads to a gnome garden (by Jean Robinson at 33 Cherrywood Drive).
Back again by popular demand, Betty Ferguson’s Glenmore Gardens (number 6714 Concession 1, Puslinch Township) featuring a large 100 acre property framed by lilacs and featuring mixed beds, rare plants, herbs, and vegetable gardens separated by low stone walls (the work of partners Christine Oksanen and Pascal Sharpe).
Visit the complimentary hospitality suite on the second floor of the Art Centre, the gallery shop, and the Sculpture Park.
Tickets for the garden tours are available at each of the gardens on the day of the tour.
