The Christmas Show coming to St. Jacobs Country Playhouse

Strike the harp and join the chorus at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse for a production that will start the holiday season with plenty of cheer.
The Christmas Show rounds out the 2007 season, entertaining audiences from Nov. 28 through Dec. 22.
Based on the treasured British tradition of the Christmas pantomime, The Christmas Show is a celebration with festive spirit, joyful song, and fun-filled comedy.
Just like last season’s hit, Aladdin, this year’s show promises to be an uplifting event the entire family will enjoy.
“We have been looking forward to staging this original holiday production all season,” said Alex Mustakas, artistic director of Drayton Entertainment.
“The Christmas Show has something for everyone, with classic carols, dynamite dancing, audience sing-alongs, and many surprises – including a special visitor direct from the North Pole.
Trudy Moffat, who directed and choreographed Aladdin in 2006, returns as writer, director, and choreographer for the production. Her credits include many pantomimes on stages throughout England and North America.
The Christmas Show features a cast that includes many local favourites such as Karen K. Edissi, (Crazy For You), Bryan Foster (Funny Money), The Gusé Family (Canadian Toonie) David Ludwig (Man of La Mancha), and Ange Pagano, Keith Savage, Kraig Waye, and Danny Williams (all of Legends).
Fred Stinson, best known to family audiences as Major Bedhead, from The Big Comfy Couch and the jovial Whishee Washee in Aladdin, returns to St. Jacobs Country Playhouse.
Robert Allen, Deirdre Barnes, Michelle Galati, David Ludwig and Kevin Tookey round out a cast that features a children’s choir made-up of 20 local youngsters.
“With such a talented group of performers, audiences are guaranteed to be entertained,” said Mustakas. “Bring your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews; this production is a wonderful way to create holiday memories for the entire family.”
The four-week engagement is already 75% sold out.
Mustakas advised theatregoers to plan ahead and call the box office at 519-747-7788 or toll free at 1-888-449-4463 as soon as possible for the best available tickets. Visit stjacobscountryplayhouse.com for more information.
