Support group for suicide survivors to meet weekly

A support group for suicide survivors will be holding eight weeks of meetings here.
Kim Muller and Christine Scallon will lead the group, Suicide Resource Group of Wellington and Dufferin, and attempt to address the need for more support for those left behind after a suicide.
This support group is designed for Centre Wellington, and meetings will run Tuesdays, starting Feb. 5, from 7 to 9pm. The meetings will run eight weeks and be held at Trellis Mental Health and Development Services (the former Community Mental Health Clinic) at 234 St. Patrick Street, in Fergus.
The meetings will be led by Christine Scallon and Kim Muller.
Each year, almost 4,000 people die by suicide in Canada, making it one of the leading causes of death in the country. Left behind are tens of thousands of family and friends who are suffering from the unexpected death.
Often, because of the stigma of suicide, they suffer in isolation.
Adults wanting to attend the meetings or more information can contact Scallon at 519-831-9396.
