Students complete RAD exams following delay due to pandemic

HARRISTON – Minto Dance Academy in Harriston touting the success of some local ballerinas.

Seven students had been preparing to take Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet exams this spring, and due to pandemic closures the exams were postponed.

The students at MDA adapted to virtual and online dance classes, where they maintained and developed their skills, and connected with peers and teachers.

“Our ballet exam candidates, along with their teacher Melanie April, were all hopeful that dance studios would open and exams would resume,” states a press release from the academy.

Finally in July they were able to resume in person classes, and in mid-August completed their exams for the RAD via video.

“MDA is very happy to be planning a return to in-person dance classes this fall,” officials note.
