Speeders of the Week

GUELPH – On Nov. 9 at about 11:55pm, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road here. Police say the officer observed a grey sedan that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 140km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Dwayne Leshern Miller, 33, of Scarborough, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on May 5.

GUELPH – On Nov. 10 at about 3am, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road here. Police say the officer observed a blue sedan that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 165km/h in an 80km/h zone.

River Hua, 20, of Guelph, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on May 5.

CENTRE WELLINGTON – On Nov. 14 at about 2am, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 18 east of the 4th Line here. Police say the officer observed a vehicle that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 130km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Jordan Javornich, 20, of Erin, was charged with racing a motor vehicle, using unauthorized plates and driving an unfit vehicle, and is to appear in Guelph court on May 5.

GUELPH – On Nov. 15 at about 7:45am, a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway near Laird Road here. Police say the officer observed a white vehicle that appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was allegedly clocked on radar at about 130km/h in an 80km/h zone.

Ziauddin Shawaliyan, 23, of Sherbrooke, Quebec, was charged with racing a motor vehicle and is to appear in Guelph court on May 5.

In the above incidents the driver’s licence and the vehicle were seized for seven days.
