Site plan approved for Minto AG expansion

MINTO – Council here has approved the site plan for the expansion of a local farm equipment sales and service operation.

The agreement, approved at the Dec. 14 council meeting, will facilitate a 21,530 square-foot expansion to the Minto AG facility located on a 10-acre property on Minto’s 8th Line.

The company was originally approved for a rezoning to facilitate the construction of the existing 16,400 square foot building in 2012.

The proposed expansion and existing building will have office, retail, industrial and warehouse space, states a report from planning technician Ashley Sawyer.

“Initially when Minto AG first opened, they employed around 12 people and they have since grown to 20. They anticipate with this addition that they will be able to continue to grow,” Sawyer told council.

“This is pretty amazing,” said deputy mayor Dave Turton. “This is what we’ve been working for for a long time.

“I mean, this is 10 years old next year and they’ve doubled their workforce, putting a big addition on …  right in the heart of Minto … it’s great to see.”
