Rockwood pumphouse to cost $1.26M

BRUCEDALE – A fourth municipal well for Rockwood will be brought into production with construction of the Milne Place pumphouse, at a cost of $1.26 million (including HST).

Guelph-Eramosa public works director Harry Niemi recommended the low tender bid from Xterra Construction be accepted, and council gave approval on April 15. Other bids ranged from $1.3 million to $2 million.

The new water supply was developed as part of the Rockwood Ridge subdivision, to connect to the existing system and support new development.

The cost, within the budget estimate, will be covered by development charges.
