Puslinch updates COVID-19 closures, openings

Some buildings, amenities closed until Aug. 4; bookings for sports fields to begin July 30

PUSLINCH – Township officials here have extended the closure of some buildings and amenities to Aug. 4, while announcing that bookings for baseball diamonds and soccer fields will begin at the end of July.

In May the township reopened outdoor sports facilities and fields as well as parks, trails and greenspaces.

Bookings for baseball diamonds and soccer fields will commence July 30, the township announced on June 26.

“Individuals using these facilities, except for members of the same household, are required to maintain physical distancing of at least two metres or six feet,” officials stated, adding all gatherings and events must comply with provincial Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health directives.

“We strongly encourage individuals utilizing available facilities to adhere to all physical distancing requirements. Failure to do so, may result in the township being directed to close these areas again.”

Puslinch officials say enforcement concerns relating to physical distancing should be communicated to the OPP non-emergency number at 1-888-310-1122.

The following township-owned facilities will remain closed until Aug. 4:

  • the Puslinch Community Centre;
  • the gymnasium at the Optimist Recreation Centre; and
  • the municipal office.
