Puslinch pilot found dead in crash

A Puslinch Township man is dead after a crash near Fergus on June 26 at about 6pm.

OPP Constable Mark Cloes reported the county OPP received a report of a light plane crash in a farm field off County Road 16, south of Sideroad 20.  

Cloes said officers, along with members of the Centre Wellington Fire Services, attended to a field area northeast of Fergus. Cloes said officers found that a glider aircraft had crashed near a tree line and the single occupant was deceased at the scene.

The deceased pilot is a 46 year old Puslinch man. Identification was being withheld pending notification of family members. Coroner Dr. Ian MacPhee attended the scene to assist with the investigation.

Cloes said police have notified Transport Canada, and they will continue the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
