Police beat: Trailer taken from job site

ERIN – On Sept. 28 at about 7am Wellington County OPP received a report of a theft at a job site on Perryman Court here.

Police say that sometime between Sept. 24 at about 3pm and Sept. 28 at about 7am, suspects stole a grey 2020 STEA utility trailer with the custom logo “2 Studs Framing” on the sides, bearing Ontario plates S3464T. The trailer contained framing tools.

The approximate value of the theft is $26,000.

Alleged thief caught in act

CENTRE WELLINGTON,  – On Oct. 5 at about 3am Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a theft in progress on Wellington Road 29 east of Fergus.

“It was reported that a suspect was observed stealing scrap metal while on the property,” police stated in a press release.

“Upon police arrival, a suspect was arrested without incident and the stolen property was recovered.”

Jonathan Bellamy, 32,  of Centre Wellington, was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime. He is to appear in Guelph court on Nov. 3.
