Police beat: Man approaches child

GUELPH – On Sept. 5 at about 3:30pm, a man driving a red van pulled into the driveway of a residence in the area of King Street and Derry Street here.

Guelph Police say the man exited the vehicle and asked  a young child playing alone in the side yard to come with him. He left the area quickly when the child declined.

The man is described as:  white, middle aged, wearing a white T-shirt, and blue jeans. The involved vehicle is a red van, possibly with a flat tire on the driver side.
