TRANSOM, Ernest Edwin

May 11, 1952 - May 10, 2025

In Loving Memory of Ernest Edwin Transom. It is with heavy hearts that we share that Ernest Edwin Transom passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, just one day before his 73rd birthday. Ernie will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend, Jean Transom, and his children, Ken and Jaki. From the moment of her birth, Ernie became a devoted father figure, guardian, and caregiver to his first-born granddaughter, Casi, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jake, Mike, Tyler, Joey, Tasha, Carisya, Cole, and Brooklyn, as well as thirteen great-grandchildren. Ernie loved his dog, Starr, and his kitten, Stella. To his family and all who knew him, he was a steady, quiet, and deeply loyal presence. He didn’t need many words to show his love- his actions, his reliability, and his quiet strength spoke volumes. He was the kind of man who showed up without being asked, gave without needing recognition, and loved without condition. To those who loved him, Ernie was far more than any title. He was a constant. A protector. A grounded man who helped raise, guide, and love with all his heart. Whether it was time spent fishing, quiet car rides, sporting events, or simply sitting side by side, the moments with him are treasured beyond words. He leaves behind a legacy of love, quiet resilience, and steady devotion. His memory lives on in the people he shaped and the values he lived by every day. A Celebration of Life and Tree Planting Reception will be held in Ernie’s honour on May 24, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00pm at Grace Christian Fellowship, 35 Farley Road, Fergus, Ontario. In honour of Ernie’s love of the outdoors, we invite you to spend a quiet moment in nature or cast a line in his memory. We will carry him with us always. Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St S, Fergus, ON.
