STEVENS, Dave

On the morning of December 17th, 2022, at the age of 68, David Charles Stevens (“Dave”, “Charlie”, “Speedy”) passed away peacefully in his sleep at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest, after an extended battle with cancer. Husband to Cheryl Stevens; son to the late Audrey Stevens and the late Evan Stevens; father to Jason (Crystal) and Joey Stevens, Todd (Victoria) and Kevin (Sam) Armstrong; grandfather to MacKenzie (Mel) and Landon (Megan) Stevens, Lars and Sutter Armstrong; close cousin to Don (Jan) and Thomas Stevens, Kristine and Bryan King; brother-in-law to Nancy (Gord) Young and Jim Culbert; uncle to Michael Young and the late Robert Young, and families; childhood friend to Brian (Brenda) Lathangue, Tom (Darla) Bannerman; longtime friend to Brad (Peggy) Henderson, Dave (Donna) Meyer, and many others in Mount Forest, Bradford and beyond; arm-chair co-pilot to his furball friend, Boo. Born in Newmarket, Dave lived in Bradford for over 40 years, later moving to Mount Forest where he spent the remainder of his life. Dave spent 44 years working at Inscape (Office Specialty) in Holland Landing before his retirement. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing with family and friends on regular trips to northern Ontario, with Lake Nippissing holding a special place in his heart. In recent years, Dave enjoyed barbequing, campfires, socializing, playing cards, watching hockey, seeing his newest grandchildren grow, and sitting quietly listening to music. Early on, Dave was a regular patron of the Bradford Legion, later extending his business to Fellini Fine Wines, and Argyle Wines; his passion for sharing a beverage with those he cared for was seldom matched. The family would like to thank all Oncology Nurses and Doctors involved in Dave’s care over the past few years, and all Louise Marshall Hospital in every department that assisted with his care. Respecting Dave’s wishes, he will be put to rest during a future private event; no visitation or funeral will be held. For those wishing to contribute in Dave’s memory, donations to the Cancer Patient Services at Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are welcome.
