STEPHENS, Christine Anne

It is with both sadness and admiration that we announce the passing of Christine Anne Stephens. She passed away peacefully on April 11th, surrounded by loved ones at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus. Predeceased by her partner in life, love and business Patrick Stephens. Christine was born and raised in Seattle Washington. The daughter of a bio-engineering professor Dad and a decorated ski professional Mom. Christine grew up sandwiched between her older brother Bobby and younger sister Becky. An opportunity for her to learn and develop the diplomatic skills on which so many relied. The family imparted a love for the outdoors, puzzles and a never-ending thirst for knowledge. Christine was a true academic. After achieving an Honours B.A. from Stanford, she went on to earn her Master’s degree from the University of Oregon. Although well educated formally, Christine never stopped learning. Her life and career took her to Kincardine Ontario, where she began to learn all about insurance. This passion grew and lead her to the love of her life and a partnership in forming and building a successful insurance brokerage in Guelph, eventually with offices across Ontario. As a founding member of L.A.C.E. (Lady Advisor Council of Education), Christine gave her time and attention to her community, while having fun and making deep lasting relationships along the way. Loving Mother of Lesley (Mark Woods) and Christopher (Valerie Molina). Regular Grandma to Shannon, Jack, Audrey and Declan. Sister to Bobby (Pat Hale) and Becky (Pat Lyle). Sister-in-law to Susan (Barny Henderson). Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. We were all better for having known her and we will all miss her deeply. A celebration of life will take place from 1pm – 4pm on April 26th 2025, at Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to organizations that Christine supported: the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.
