SETH, Sawarn Lata

April 25, 1932 - March 11, 2021

It is with a heavy heart that our family announces the passing of Sawarn Lata Seth, wife, mother, Dadiji/Naniji, sister in her 89th year. With her husband and children comforting her, Sawarn passed quietly, peacefully and gracefully on March 11, 2021 She is survived by her husband with whom she was in the 70th year of marriage & recently shared his 100th birthday. She was fondly referred to as Swarni by her husband & all her relatives. Sawarn Seth, born April 25, 1932 in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa, grew up in the Bhandari family. She Married at age 19 to Mitra Pal Seth in August 1951. She raised her children and enjoyed the family life in Kenya. The family immigrated to Toronto, Canada in July 1976, and enjoyed her years in Scarborough, Ontario, until moving to the LTC home in December 2018. Sawarn enjoyed living in the Union Villa LTC home in Markham, Ontario, Canada where she has been a resident, with her husband, since December 2018. Sawarn received outstanding care, provided by all the areas in the home, including the recreation staff, dieticians, food services, social workers, Nurses, doctors, PSW’s and all care providers in the facility and made the environment as comfortable and safe as possible. Sawarn lost her vision, but she was able to “see” everyone clearly. Sawarn was very protective of her husband and his well being. Sawarn always welcomed visitors to her home and was concerned with their comfort and welcomed everyone with a generous heart. She enjoyed music and laughter and the company of all her husband, children, grandchildren, relatives, visitors during any interaction and was very appreciative and thankful for any attention, care or service. She is predeceased by her father: G.R. Bhandari (1985) , Mother: Satya Devi Bhandari (1949) and first dearly loved child , a daughter Anju (1953). She is survived by her husband, Mitra Pal Seth, and 3 children: Nira Sovig (Graham) , Rajeev Seth (Archana) , Shaman Seth (Marina). As Dadiji/Naniji, she adored her 9 grandchildren: Einar Sovig (Radhika), Micaala Wise (Craig), Rohan Sovig, Anisha Seth (Mark+[billie]), Natasha Seth (Robert+[ria]), Shailla Seth (Matthew), Cameron Seth (Tori+[bobby]), Marisa Seth (+[joey]) and Ravi Seth (Julie). Sawarn was expecting 2 great grand children in the summer of 2021. She is survived by her 8 siblings, her 4 brothers Ranbir Bhandari, Vishi Bhandari, Vin Bhandari, Surinder (Fitty) Bhandari and her 4 sisters Sneh Puri, Yog Malhotra, Saroj Khosla, Suniti Kumar. Private funeral ceremony, rites, and cremation was completed on March 14, 2021 at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home in Markham, Ontario.
