Obituary

Elsie Katherine Anne (Lantz) Schaus of Clifford passed away at Bright Shores Health Centre, Owen Sound on Monday, June 2, 2025 in her 97th year. Elsie was born in Normanby Township on May 25, 1929 to Eugene and Mary Lantz. On June 18, 1949, she married Walter Schaus. Walter passed away on May 19, 2020. God blessed their marriage with three children, Dennis and Wilma Schaus of Clifford, Dovene and John Steele of Salt Spring Island, B.C., and Douglas and Susan Schaus of Hanover. Grandmother of Daniel and Linda Schaus, Marc Schaus, Casey and Taylor Steele, Alayna and Tim Tubman, Ryan Schaus, and Meagan and Justin Moorey, and great-grandmother of Brock, Kara, Jackson, Gracie, Mason, Riley, and Cameron. Predeceased by her granddaughters Courtenay Steele and Jennifer Steele. The funeral service was held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Clifford on Saturday, June 7th at 2:00pm with visitation from 12:00pm until time of service. Interment in Clifford Cemetery.
