PRIDE, Jessie Jean (Jamieson)

July 25, 1929 - May 6, 2021

When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a precious treasure. After a long and well lived life Jean Pride passed peacefully from this world to her heavenly home on May 6, 2021 at the Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home. Jean was a life time member of the Arthur Presbyterian Church, an avid member of Eastern Star, Past President of the Rebecca Assembly of Ontario and Past Appointed Officer of the International Association of Rebecca Assemblies. Jean is survived by her children Sandy Pride and his wife Anne, Pamela Rutherford-Farmer and her husband Brian Farmer, Penny Ann Schmidt, Lachlan Pride and his wife Janet, Lindsay Pride and sons-in-law Pat Schmidt and Tim Epoch. Also survived by her grandchildren Bill & Jessica Pride, Michael & Marie Pride, Nick Rutherford, Ben & Cheryl Rutherford, Bob & Brandi Rutherford, Steve & Julie Schmidt, Paula & Josh Peacock, Dennis & Michelle Epoch, Tom & Lindsay Epoch, Nicki & Jamie Stoddart, Jonathan & Ashley Land, David Pride & partner Sarah Swan, Adam Pride, Sarah & Adam Dunn and 23 great grandchildren. Jean was predeceased by her parents George and Mary Jane (Alma) Jamieson, brothers Leonard, Paul, Mel, infant brother John, infant sister Gloria, her husband, Bill Pride, (1972), daughter Paula Epoch (2018) and granddaughter Christine Schmidt-Fries (2011). For those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jean, we ask you to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or Trillium Gift of Life Network. Jean’s family would like to thank the staff of Cedar Grove Wellington Terrace, Dr. John Stickney and granddaughter-in-law Julie Schmidt for the wonderful, compassionate care given to Mom by helping her to live her best life while living with dementia. She wasn’t just a resident, she was a loved member of her caregivers family. To honour Jeans’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Arthur.
