a resident of Kensington Village in London, was welcomed home to her Lord and Saviour on Friday, July 10, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Born to the late Lukas and Geessien Dobben in Holsloot, The Netherlands, on August 14, 1938, Fenna immigrated to Canada with her family in 1952, and married the love of her life, the late John Plat (2001), in April 1960. Together they farmed in Arthur for over 30 years. Grateful for the mother they loved are Grace and Mark Thompson of Lynden, Teresa and Dave Reesor of Guelph, Al and Jeannette Plat of Athabasca, and Anita and Roger Kuiken of London. Loving Nana to her grandchildren Zach (Amy), Chelsea (Nicholas), Jacob, Courtney, Michaela (Gunnar), Leah, AJ (Kelly), Justin, Callie, Ryan, Nikki, Jared, and great-grandmother to Charlotte. Cherished sister of Geesje (Stephen) Fulton of London and sister-in-law to Anna Guit, Joyce Kuper, Lynn and Ralph Haveman, Jeanne Tinholt, Albert and Patricia Plat, and Betty Dobben. Predeceased by her brothers Albert Dobben, Bertus Dobben, Lukas Dobben, and sister Margaret Roberts, brothers and sisters-in-law Wim Guit, Hennie Dobben, Geert Kuper, Lorna Dobben, Margaret Dobben, Jean Dobben, Ernie Roberts, John Tinholt and son-in-law David Grant. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Fenna was a devoted member in her home church and in her beloved communities of Drayton and Arthur. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Kensington Village for the love and care she received over the last four years. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held in the Drayton Reformed Church and can be viewed live on Youtube under Drayton Reformed Church on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 11:00am.
