Passed away peacefully at his home, on September 2, 2019, in his 85th year, with his loving wife of 60 years Patricia Gail (nee Allingham) and family at his side. Beloved father of Cynthia Moore (Barry), Randall (Joyce), Elizabeth Piitz (Jamie Austin) and Jason (Lisa Fish). Adored grandfather of Marshall & Kyle Billings and Jennifer, Katherine and Hayden Piitz. Proud great grandfather of Riley Piitz-Howell. Ron is survived by his siblings Doug (Rosella), Anita, Floyd (Betty), Michael, Gail, Midge and Rick (Myra). Also survived by his sisters-in-law Sheila Williams and Dorothy Schuster and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Joyce Robillard. The family would like to thank Dr. John Stickney and Ron’s many PSWs and nurses for the care they provided in order to keep Ron at home for his final days. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Thursday, September 5th , 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Parish prayers to be held at 6:45pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 760 St. David St. North in Fergus, on Friday, September 6th, 2019 at 11:00am. Inurnment to be held at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus. Celebration of Life Reception to follow at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus. Memorial donations can be directed to the Alzheimer’s Society.
