PHILLIPS, Ross

June 2, 1920 - August 12, 2020

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great grandfather. Predeceased by his wife, Velma of 67 years. Survived by his daughters Heather, Ruth (John) and Pauline, grandchildren Kevin, Kelly, Jonathan, Leanne, Paul and Alexandra and 8 great grandchildren. He farmed in Guelph Twp. for over 30 years and then worked at the University of Guelph in the poultry research department. Dad was a man of integrity and a true gentleman. He had a deep love for his family. Dad loved to go for a car ride to see the countryside and then stop for a black cherry ice cream cone. The time he spent with his family brought him such joy. He loved a great debate and was funny, kind and a man of his word. Dad’s love for God was evident in his commitment to serve Him through the choirs he directed and the various organs he played. He and Mom created a lot of beautiful music together. They were a team at home and serving at church. Most recently he was reading through the Psalms again and that brought him great comfort. We as a family are so grateful to God that he blessed us with such a wonderful role model. A private family service was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. If you wish to make a donation in his honour: Teen Challenge and Samaritan’s Purse were a couple of charities dear to Dad’s heart. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel.
