MOEBUS, Harry Dieter

Passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Groves Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of Bonnie (nee: Wilson). Loving father of David (Christine) and Pauline. Cherished grandfather of Gail and Jack. Harry will be missed by his sister Monika (Gary), brother Ernie and all the nieces and nephews who adored him. Predeceased by his parents Kurt and Erna (nee: Hollman) Moebus and sister-in-law Eileen. Harry loved the outdoors and had a passion for hunting, fishing and canoeing. He also loved all of the family dogs and more recently, his granddogs. Harry’s family escaped from East to West Germany in the early years of the Soviet occupation. He and his brother then made it to their chosen home of Canada, and were soon joined by his parents and sister. Harry was a proud Canadian from the moment he arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax. He was a long time employee of Linamar in Guelph, and had continued friendships with many of his co-workers. His happy place was in his home, in his yard, with his family and neighbours. Harry and Bonnie moved to Fergus in 1975 and never considering moving anywhere else. As per Harry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services at this time. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Lund, Dr. Jones and all of the wonderful and caring staff at Groves Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Groves Hospital Foundation or The Salvation Army.
