It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Norman Massie of Harriston announces his passing on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on January 30, 1954, in Toronto, Ontario, Roger lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep loyalty, and unwavering love for his family and friends. For nearly 52 years, he was the devoted husband of Joanne (Smith) Massie, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. Roger was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Dale Riley, and a supportive father-in-law to Bruce Riley. His greatest joy came from being a grandfather to Charlotte and Evan, with whom he shared countless stories, hugs, and memories that will live on in their hearts. He is survived by his siblings Larry (Jenny), Ginny (Dave), Kevin, and Andy. He was predeceased by his parents, Lillian (Watson) and Norman Massie, and his brother Steve. Roger’s faith in God was a cornerstone of who he was. In his final days, he was at peace and ready to go meet Jesus, comforted by the hope and promise of eternal life. His family takes solace in knowing he is now in the presence of his Saviour. Roger’s legacy is one of warmth, humility, and quiet dedication. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his kind heart, his sense of humour, and his steady presence. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
