KINGSCOTE-GODKIN, Barbara, DVM., MSc., DPhil.

“Dr. Barb” passed from this earthly life to be with her Creator on Sept. 26th, 2019 at Wellington Terrace, Fergus, ON. She will be missed by daughters Phoebe and Robin Kingscote, her grandchildren Adam Kingscote, Jacob Lajeunesse, (Ashley), Heidi and Daniel Lajeunesse, Jesse Kingscote (Kali), Dylan Kingscote-Jones, Caleb Kleinveld, Jonathan Kleinveld, (Chantelle), and great grandchildren Lily, Stella, Israelle, Jesse, Grace, Aubrey and Liam. Barbara was born in Longueuil, PQ. She settled in the Eden Mills\Rockwood area to raise her family and pursue her education at Guelph, OVC. In her 91 years Barbara has been a brave and adventurous woman. She is known for her journey across Canada on horseback in the late 1940’s, her contributions to science as a microbiologist, research and herd health veterinarian, and her work in the Arctic with the reindeer herd. She traveled many parts of the world working and sharing her passion for people, animals and the natural environment. As an author and speaker Barbara was able to share both her knowledge of nature and philosophy of life. She took great satisfaction in inspiring and assisting people to achieve their goals and dreams and was a trail blazer for many to follow on their own journeys. Many thanks to all the staff at Wellington Terrace for their genuine kindness and truly great care of Barb. Thank you also to those from St. James, from Hospice, and others who came to visit her. Your caring and time were so appreciated. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 16th 2019 at the hall at St. James Anglican Church in Fergus from 2:00 – 5:00pm. Everyone is welcome. Please bring your stories to share with the family and to put into a book of memories.
