JENICEK, Dr. Milos MD

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Prof Milos Jenicek MD, a distinguished physician, researcher, and educator, who departed this life surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Jana, and their cherished children: Tom (Janice), Andy (Chantal), and Chris. Dr. Jenicek was also a proud grandfather to Richard, Jared (Michelle), Brooke (Riley), and Cameron, and to niece Vendy Hejčlová. Born to Dr. Vaclav and Vlasta, Milos is predeceased by his beloved parents and his sister, Vlasta. Dr. Jenicek held the title of Professor Emeritus at the Université de Montréal, and was a Professor at McMaster University. He was also an Adjunct Professor at McGill University, and also taught at University of Oran, Algeria. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in London, UK, his contributions to medicine were significant and widely recognized. Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Jenicek had a passion for travel, exploring the world with his family. He had a love for big band music and was an accomplished author, writing 17 medical textbooks and numerous academic publications in English and French, and translated to Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Korean. Milos’ dedication to his family, profession, and the pursuit of knowledge will be deeply missed. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched and the many lives he influenced throughout his remarkable journey. A celebration of his life will be held at Graham A Giddy Funeral Home (280 St. David St. S, Fergus, 519-843-3100) on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 12:00pm with interment immediately following at St. Peter’s Mission Cemetery, Oustic.
