Passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Wellington Terrace, Fergus at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Habermehl (2001). Loving mother of Brian (Gayle), Bruce (Cathy), the late Kevin (1977), Kirby (Carole), and Anita (Rick) Crosby. Cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Remembered by her siblings Glen (Joan) Shoemaker, Vera Shoemaker (the late Doug Ireland), the late Ray (Barb) Shoemaker, Lyal (Berna) Shoemaker, the late Fern Shoemaker, Eva (the late Don) Schell, the late Clare (Judy) Shoemaker, Lorne (Donna) Shoemaker, Stuart (Yvona) (the late Linda) Shoemaker, and sister-in-law Doris (the late Bill) Ermel. Predeceased by her parents George and Anna (Snyder) Shoemaker, and daughter-in-law Norma Habermehl. Eileen was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who valued any time spent with her loved ones. She was an avid quilter and knitter, giving each of her family members multiple handmade gifts. She was very involved in the church quilting, bible studies, and was passionate about the church. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira. An hour of viewing will take place from 9-10am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Bethel Mennonite Church, 6772 8 Line W., Elora followed by a private family interment in Bethel Mennonite Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 11am at the church, with a reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to MCC would be appreciated and may be made through the funeral home.
