GORDON, Helen

It is with broken hearts that the MacLeod and Gordon family announces the passing of Helen, on May 27, 2025 at Groves Memorial Hospital at the age of 50. After a courageous 5 year battle with cancer, Helen was surrounded by those who loved her most as her fight came to an end. She fought with the same determination and grace that she carried for many years on the ball diamond. Helen’s true love was being Mom to Bryce and Bree. Her unwavering support in all they did was her true passion. Helen was a beloved and notable presence in the community, whether at the hockey rink, the ball diamond, the rugby pitch, or the local dog park. Her passion for sport and her deep love for animals made her a cherished figure in every corner of the neighbourhood. Helen had a remarkable way of bringing people together, and her contagious smile and unmistakable laugh could brighten even the coldest morning. Whether cheering on a game or sharing stories with fellow dog lovers, Helen didn’t just show up, she lit up the space around her, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the joy of knowing her. Besides her children, Helen is survived by partner Gord MacLeod of Fergus, parents William and Burna of Guelph, brother Alex (Wendy) and their children Maddison and Austin of Kitchener. She was the niece of Frank and Pauline, Evelyn, and Ken and Trudy. Cousin to Paul, Cheryl, Yvonne and Gord. Helen is predeaceased by her grandparents Roy and Marjorie and her uncle George. Helen’s kindness, laughter, and strength will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered support during Helen’s illness. A special thank you to the staff at Groves Memorial Hospital for their above and beyond care for Helen.
