GIBSON, Juanita Sadie (nee Clayton)

July 11, 1917 - May 22, 2019

Peacefully, at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home in Fergus, Ontario in her 102nd year. Beloved wife of the late Alymer Gibson (1908-1995). Juanita will be greatly missed by her sisters – Leola Solomon and Alice Donald, brother-in-law Gordon Burnett. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, cherished by Murray and Muriel Burnett. Predeceased by her parents Albert and Mabel (Platt) Clayton of Grand Valley, siblings, Vincent, Jean Cowen, William, Harold, Doreen Burnett, Gerald, Betty Richardson and Gordon. Before her marriage, in 1946, during the war, Juanita worked at the Beatty Brothers Plant in Fergus, making shells for combat. Alymer and Juanita farmed in the Conn area of West Luther, and retired to Guelph, Ontario. Juanita enjoyed living in Highland Manor, Fergus for ten years, before moving to Wellington Terrace at the age of 100. Funeral service was conducted at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus, on Tuesday May 28th, 2019 at 11:00am, with visitation from 10:00am. Interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Guelph. If desired, donations to Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus or St. John’s United Church, Belwood would be appreciated.
